Our Master of Arts Programme in Music Performance aims to support your further development of artistic expression and profile. With a focus on your individual artistic project and goal, our programme is designed to educate independent and reflected musicians, with a passion for the art.

European Jazz Master (EUJAM) is a joint postgraduate programme for young elite jazz performers and composers at four European jazz schools in Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and Trondheim. Read more about the EUJAM programme here.

The Master’s Degree Programme in Music Performance aims to give students a solid foundation for developing a personal artistic expression and profile. The programme strongly emphasizes music performance as such, and in addition to developing instrumental, artistic and musical skills on a high level, the programme is designed to educate independent and reflected musicians, with a passion for the art.

Department of Music is located in the center of the city. We have a close and safe student environment with around 150 performing music students studying jazz or classical music. About 30 of these students are masterstudents. We cooperate with several music-institutions to give our students relevant, professional and practical experiences in orchestras and ensembles.

The Master of Arts Programme in Music Performance is a two year full-time study of 120 ECTS credits.

The programme is open to both international and Norwegian students. Admittance to the programme requires Higher Education Entrance Qualification and a completed bachelor's degree comparable to a Norwegian bachelor's degree with a specialization in performing music in classical music, jazz or similar. Auditions are held in week 8 (jazz) and 11 (classical) in 2025.
