Learning outcome

Knowledge:
Student:
-have knowledge of basic biological terms.
- have knowledge of the most important marine algae and animals in
Norwegian waters.
- know the life cycle for some selected groups of matine organisms
groups.
- have knowledge of anatomy and physiology of some groups of marine
organisms.

Skills:
Student:
- are able to work with biological material in the field and the
laboratory.
- are able to use field equipment for marine biological sampling
- can perform dissection of fish and shellfish.
- can write a simple scientific report.

Competance:
Student:
-can present marinebiological topics to others, written and oral.
- are familiar with current innovation processes in the field.

Learning methods and activities

Pedagogiske metoder:

Lectures (about 50 hours), laboratory work (3-4 , fieldwork with group assignments.      

Cumpulsory assignments: Must be approved to enter final exam.
