Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap:
Climatic stresses on buildings,
Basic design principles, material properties and concepts,
Material models and durability characteristics,
Basic statutory requirements for buildings, including indoor environment and energy requirements,
Digital drawing and engineering tools.
Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter:
Apply methods and models to document the quality of buildings,
Design and Project simple buildings in accordance with current regulations,
Perform simple condition assessments using field measurement equipment.
Design and Project simple building constructions with given computer tools,
Dimensioning simple structural components in accordance with current standards.

The candidate should be able to present his/her results and analyzes both written and oral,
The candidate should master relevant terminology and be able to communicate with other professionals
Learning methods and activities
Pedagogiske metoder:
Lectures and exercises. Solve building projects manually and by using computer tools, and present them written and oral. Practical exercises in the laboratory. Visit to construction site.
Mandatory work requirements:
Information of mandatory assignments/exercises, deadlines and requirements will be announced at the beginning of the semester.
