Course content

Cells and tissues, the integumentary system, the Blood, the muscular and skeletal system, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the urinary system, the endocrine system, the nervous system,the reproductive system and normal histology.

Learning outcome

Knowledge - the student:

  • know the different types of tissues
  • know the normal structure and functions of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems
  • is able to explain the microscopic look of cells and see this in the context of their function in the body

Skills - the student:

  • is able to recognize the normal microscopic morphology to the organ systems

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, laboratory courses.

Total workload for each student will be 200 hours. There will be about 64 scheduled hours with lectures and laboratory courses.

Mandatory activity: Four digital laboratory exercises with accompanying journals have to be completed and approved in order to take final exam.
