Course content
The course trains students in translation from Norwegian into French and from French into Norwegian. A selection of authentic Norwegian or French-language texts (newspapers, fiction and non-fiction) serve as a basis for translation.
Students must translate texts before lectures. During lectures, these translations are commented on and discussed with regards to choice of wording, alternative expressions, register, and potential grammatical difficulties. The main focus is on idiomatic and correct usage of French.
