Course content
The course should give students insight into theories and methods for critical analysis of various types of French-language texts. The course has a practical approach, focusing on the terms, techniques and methods for working with assignments in the different disciplines of French studies. Students will learn how to write short academic texts in French.

Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions with discussion. Practical assignments. The course is taught in French.
Obligatory assignments:
80% mandatory attendance
1 short written assignment in French
1 oral presentation in French
For students following the programme in Language Studies with Teacher Education, at least one of the assignments must have a didactic focus.
Approved obligatory assignments are only valid for the semester in which the approval is given. All obligatory assignments must be completed in the same semester.
Compulsory assignments
- 80% attendance in all teaching activities
- 2 short written assignments in French
- 80 % mandatory attendance
- 1 short written assignment in French
- 1 oral presentation in French
Further on evaluation
Term paper (approximately 2000 words), written in French.
It is not possible for students who have passed the exam in FRA1130 to retake the exam in a semester where this course is not taught. Students who did not pass the exam, or who did not complete the exam due to illness may submit the exam in a semester where this course is not taught; however, they will not receive any supervision.
