About the course
Course content
The Master's thesis should include a scientific analysis of a problem in the field of financial economics. The topic and analysis of the master's thesis must be approved by the Department of Economics. Supervision is an essential and obligatory component of the work on the master's thesis. The supervision contributes to ensuring that the student has the necessary knowledge to complete the thesis, and serves as a quality control in the collection and processing of data. Supervision can be given in English. The master thesis should as a general rule be written in pairs. The Department may approve applications from students who, due to special circumstances, need to submit individually. The master's thesis is assumed to have a workload corresponding to one semester, and the work should be carried out in accordance with the Department's guidelines for master theses (https://www.ntnu.no/studier/msok/masteroppgaven). Topics should be within the scope of courses given in the master programme.
