Course content
The course is offered every alternate year in the autumn semester ( 2024 will be the next time). The course comprises the theoretical foundation on an advanced level within ecology, especially plant ecology and should deepen the knowledge in ecology above the MSc level. It should be a common course for PhD-students in ecology and what parts are discussed depends on the present staff, but could include evolutionary biology, population biology, biodiversity, plant-animal interactions and community/ecostem and landscape ecology.
Learning outcome
After completing the course, the student will be familiar with the theoretical foundation on an advanced level within selected topics in ecology, especially plant ecology. The student will have achieved the capacity to discuss the latest knowledge and show overview of the development of the research within the topic. The student should also be able to present this advanced knowledge written and orally in a thorough, scientific and clear way.
