Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- Master the terminology of the subject.
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of basic statistical methods.
- Acquire general knowledge about the ethical norms of research.
- Knowledge of presentation and reporting techniques.
Skills:
- Be able to undertake an independent, small-scale research project in accordance with prevailing scientific ethical norms, using Python.
- Be able to select and master relevant statistical tools according to research questions and the formulated hypotheses.
- Be able to communicate research problems, analyses, and conclusions, as well as acquire a basis for communicating more comprehensive scientific work.
General competence:
- Be able to apply the topics of this course in a larger business/economic professional perspective.
- Be able to apply the topics of this course in a larger social perspective.
- Be able to acquire updated knowledge within the above mentioned areas of knowledge and skills.
- Be able to critically present the uncertainty of results based on different statistical methods.

Mandatory Assignments:
Two individual statistical exercises must be handed in and approved in order for candidates to be allowed to take the final exams. Previously approved mandatory assignments are valid until there are significant changes in the subject.
Students are entitled to re-sit only the part of the examination in which they have had legitimate reasons for an absence or have failed. A re-sit examination will take place only during the designated period for re-sit examinations. To be awarded a grade, both exams must be passed. Students are entitled to take only the part of the ordinary examination in which they have failed or want to improve. They do not need to retake all parts of the examination.
