Learning outcome - Knowledge- Understand what a project is.- Have a foundation for planning, organizing and controlling projects.- Have knowledge of the scholarly theories and methods in the field of project management.- Have knowledge of new areas within the academic field of project management.Learning outcome - Skills- Be able to analyze and deal critically with various sources of information and use them to structure and formulate scholarly arguments within project management.- Be able to analyze existing theories, methods and interpretations in the field of project management and work independently on practical and theoretical problems.- Be able to use relevant methods for research and scholarly development work independently.Learning outcome - General competence- Be able to analyse relevant academic, professional and research ethical problems.- Be able to apply knowledge and skills in new areas in order to carry out advanced assignments and projects.- Be able to communicate extensive independent work and terminology from the academic field of project leadership.- Be able to communicate about academic issues, analyses and conclusions in the field of project leadership, both with specialists and the general public.- Be able to contribute to new thinking and innovation processes within project leadership.

Learning methods and activities

The course consists of a combination of lectures and guest lectures, casework, paper presentations and discussions. Guest lecturers will facilitate the application of project management concepts and theories to real-life project situations.Mandatory Assignments: All students must pass an individual assignment in order to take the final examination. If a student defers the final exam until the following academic year, then he or she must complete and pass a new individual assignment. Participation at guest lectures and on company visits is also mandatory.
