Centre for Academic and Professional Communication (SEKOM) - Research
Research
Applied linguistics has a strong tradition for action research into written and oral communication in various contexts. Research carried out at the Centre for Academic and Professional Communication focuses on the challenges facing various parties in their professional practice and their strategies for achieving communicative goals, including user involvement, evaluation and problem-solving.
In applying a sociocultural perspective on communication, we seek to understand communicative practices in the various contexts where they occur. This research seeks to build a bridge between communicative practices and the social discourses that surround them and of which they are a part.
