About SFI PhysMet
PhysMet is a centre for research-based innovation (SFI) appointed by The Research Council of Norway from 2020-2028. A centre for research-based innovation is a dedicated, long-term initiative designed to strengthen and further develop elite, creative research and innovation groups or to build research groups in strategically important areas.
The overall objective of the Centres for Research-based Innovation scheme is to enhance the ability of the business sector to innovate and create value through a greater focus on long-term research.
Vision: SFI PhysMet aims to be a world leading research centre in the field of physical metallurgy, required to accelerate the transformation of the national metal industry towards more sustainable and cost-effecient production and future material products, solutions and improved processing methods.
