MRI has become one of the most important and verstile modalities in medical imaging. This is because of a range of useful contrast mechanisms and the absence of ionizing radiation.
In close collaboration with St.Olavs Hospital and the Medical Faculty at NTNU we are working on developing new imaging techniques in MRI, with special attention to application in cancer diagnosis and neuro science (functional MRI). The recent opening of the PET-center at St.Olavs Hospital and the installation of the first and only combined PET-MR scanner in Norway, opens new arenas for research and development in advanced medical imaging.
