The board of the society prepares every year an activity plan.The society arranges normally two or three meetings per year. The number of meetings depends on that the board finds technical topics that engage the majority of our members. In addition, it is also essential to locate the meetings to interesting places in order to gain more knowledge and experience related to thermal turbomachinery.

Typical activities during a year:

• Annual general meeting in March arranged in Trondheim

• A seminar on a selected subject, often in connection with the annual general meeting or later the same year

• Other thematic meetings or short courses during the year

• Launching studies in problem areas which are of common interest among the members

This year a seminar on ”Turbomachinery technology” will be arranged in Trondheim, and we are planning both to arrange a short course and to visit a member company.

Possible thematic areas for these or other meetings this year could be:

• Development of wet gas compressors

• Operating experience with rotating machinery

• Magnetic bearings and couplings

• Gearbox technology

• Reduction of NOx emission from gas turbines

• Updating of current emission requirements
