Student Housing

NTNU can only guarantee Sit student housing for students from outside Europe (EU/EEA/EFTA).

The NTNU Office of International Relations allocates available Sit student accommodation to international students.

The Student Welfare Organization in Ålesund (Sit Ålesund) offers housing for international students. Monthly rental prices start from NOK 4100.  Prices are adjusted 1 July each year. The rooms have access to internet and some are furnished. However, please note that the rooms are not equipped with bedding or kitchen equipment.

Most international students stay at Sørnesvågen village, which is about a 5-minute walk from campus. Most rooms at Sørnesvågen are furnished. Also Sunde-bygget, located on campus, is a preferred housing option for exchange students. Please note that it is required to buy your own mattress at Sunde-bygget. 

Exchange students from partner universities are normally given priority on student housing. However, we cannot guarantee accommodation in the cheapest or preferred category.

Private housing 

Students that are not allocated student housing from Sit Ålesund will have to find private accommodation. These websites are a useful starting point (in Norwegian):
