The conference brings together researchers and teachers in second and foreign language pronunciation. The Nordic Network for L2 Pronunciation (NNL2P) takes a special interest in Nordic languages but welcomes any contributions that are relevant to the field, including but not restricted to

  • segmental and prosodic pronunciation
  • from articulation to perception
  • the influence of spelling on pronunciation learning
  • foreign and second language learning and teaching
  • bilingual and non-native language learning
  • L2, L3, etc.
  • learning through immersion and in language courses
  • factors that affect language learning
  • accentedness, intelligibility, comprehensibility, and acceptability
  • pronunciation training and assessment
  • basic and applied research

The conference provides an opportunity to meet other researchers and teachers in an informal setting. All oral and poster presentations are in person, you are also welcome to participate without a presentation. All presentations will be in English. The conference starts early on Thursday morning and finishes at lunchtime on Friday; to get good rates for your trip and stay, you are advised to plan your trip well in advance.

Venue

The conference was held at NTNU's campus Gløshaugen, Kolbjørn Hejes vei 1A, Trondheim.  Building: Varmeteknisk, 2. Floor, Seminar room C201 (302_C201).

You can also take the bus from a bus stop near your hotel to bus stop “Gløshaugen”. Be sure to download the AtB mobillett app from App Store or Google Play in advance!

Travel

You may travel to Trondheim airport by plane. The airport is called Værnes (TRD) and has several flights from Copenhagen, Helsinki, Amsterdam and Oslo during the day.

How to get from Trondheim airport to the city centre:

  • by bus. The bus stops quite near to the recommended hotels.
  • by taxi (flytaxi is more affordable than a normal taxi but must be ordered in advance)
  • by train from “Trondheim lufthavn” to “Trondheim S” . Trondheim Central station (“Trondheim S”) is situated in the city centre, within walking distance from most of what the city has to offer.

Accommodation

There are many options for hotels in Trondheim which you can book through booking.com or hotels.com. We’ve selected four options:

  • Scandic Lerkendal (closest to the venue, not in the city centre)
Distance to the venue: 14 minutes on foot, 13 minutes by bus

If you want to share with others, there are two other options, but these must booked by contacting them directly (and well in advance):
