Kulturskole-compulsory school-collaboration
The research group Kulturskole-compulsory school-collaboration is linked to Work package 1 in the University-kulturskole project Unikup. This work package is about the development and investigation of collaboration between kulturskole and compulsory schools. This could, for example, concern collaboration regarding teaching in the primary school subject of music and how the kulturskole’s «breddeprogram» [broad program] (cf. Framework plan for the kulturskole) is carried out in collaboration with the compulsory school. The research group's purpose is to contribute to knowledge about how such collaborations manifest themselves and affect knowledge, learning, teaching and contextual conditions, as well as how various issues arise and are dealt with in such collaborative relationships.
The research group has connections to other national and international research networks, such as the Nordic Network for kulturskole-related research and KiS: Art Education in Collaboration.
The participants in the research group contribute to research about kulturskole-compulsory school collaboration, and in particular through Work Package 1 in Unikup. Some prominent sub-projects are the PhD projects of Ingrid Fostad and Solveig Rivenes Lone, both of which are linked to the municipal development project "Kulturdag" in Trondheim municipality, a project about the famous NTNU-jazz study's philosophy of imitation learning as basic education in music, one project that takes up the use of music technology in primary schools and kulturskole and at the same time examines teacher training practices in music. Overall, the research group is concerned with how kulturskole and compulsory schools can collaborate on basic learning in music and other art subjects. In the research group, participants meet across teacher education, music education, art education and kulturskole. The research group is led by Bjørn-Terje Bandlien, associate professor of music at the Department of Teacher Education at NTNU.
