How to get here

NTNU Gjøvik is situated in Kallerud, only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Gjøvik, and less than 20 minutes away from the bus and train station.

Gjøvik is located in the central eastern part of Norway, 123 kilometres north of Oslo. Trains and buses run between Gjøvik and Oslo several times a day, with the TIMEkspressen bus service stopping at Gardermoen, Oslo's main international airport. Northbound trains to Trondheim and Bodø can be taken from Lillehammer, only an hour to the north by bus.

Rental car:

If you wish to use a rental car the fastest route is along road E16 towards Roa and then along road 4 to Gjøvik. This route will take approx. 1,5 hours.

City bus in Gjøvik:

The buses B42, B44, B45, B46 and B47 stop by the university.

Parking

Parking for employees and students

NTNU in Gjøvik charges for parking in parts of the campus parking lots. See parking map and zone numbers further down on the page.

All employees and students who wish to park at NTNU in Gjøvik must activate a parking agreement in the Radig app and log in with Feide username. This applies to both zones with and without charges.

In zones with charges, you pay the NTNU rate of 5 NOK/hour. This also applies to charging stations.

Parking for guests

In the "pit" between the Helvin building and the Gneis building, there is a separate parking lot for guests. Here you will also find motorcycle parking.

Guests pay 28 NOK/hour using the parking meter.

Parking rates

  • Employees and students: 5 kroner per hour (assuming a Radig app agreement is activated).
  • Guests: 28 kroner per hour.

Fee period

  • Parking charges apply on weekdays between 8 am-4 pm.
  • Weekends and public holidays are free.

Payment methods

There are 3 payment options.

After registration in the app, your access to the NTNU Employee/Student rate ("benefit parking") must be verified.

In addition, there are some parking spaces at Kallerudhallen between Merkantilvegen and Alfarvegen. Entry is via Merkantilveien at the Eidsivabygget. These are for NTNU employees, students, and guests and are free of charge.
