About Team Bioenergy

NTNU Team Bio energy gathers a multidisciplinary group of experts working on topics spanning:

  • biomass production and crop resilience
  • catalysis for biomass conversion
  • biofuels and biorefineries, including:
    • pre-treatment and hydrolysis of lignocellulosics for second generation biofuels
    • computational and experimental analysis of integrated biorefinery systems that integrate multiple conversion processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness while adding value to multiple feedstocks
  • energy recovery of bio-originated and solid municipal wastes
  • sustainability assessment of bioenergy systems, including:
  • LCA of biofuels and bioenergy
    • sustainable land management systems for biofuels
    • mapping of land availability and biomass resource potentials to address challenges related to climate change mitigation
    • environmental sustainability of bio-based chemicals and polymers derived from lignocellulosic materials
