NTNU Energy Team bio energy
NTNU Team Bio energy gathers a multidisciplinary group of experts working on topics spanning:
- biomass production and crop resilience
- catalysis for biomass conversion
- biofuels and biorefineries, including:
- pre-treatment and hydrolysis of lignocellulosics for second generation biofuels
- computational and experimental analysis of integrated biorefinery systems that integrate multiple conversion processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness while adding value to multiple feedstocks
- energy recovery of bio-originated and solid municipal wastes
- sustainability assessment of bioenergy systems, including:
- LCA of biofuels and bioenergy
- sustainable land management systems for biofuels
- mapping of land availability and biomass resource potentials to address challenges related to climate change mitigation
- environmental sustainability of bio-based chemicals and polymers derived from lignocellulosic materials
