Research interest: Lichen taxonomy, diversity and ecology. Lichenicolous fungi. Particularly interested in epiphytic lichens of the boreal rainforests of coastal, Central Norway. At present working on sterile, saxicolous, crustose lichens in Norway and preparing projects on the lichen family Lecanoraceae and phyllogeography of lichens in boreal rainforests. Member of the Norwegian Red List Group on lichens. Also working on 3th edition of a Norwegian Lichen Book – Norsk Lavflora.

Research interests: Macroecology, biogeography, community ecology.
Øystein Hjorthol Opedal
Senior lecturer, PhD
oystein.opedal@biol.lu.se
Institution: Lund University
Research interests: I'm interested in various topics within ecology and evolutionary biology. My current main research activities concerns the evolution of plant mating systems, which I study using the Neo-tropical vine Dalechampia scandensas a model system. Our group study these plants both in the field, in the greenhouse and by molecular-genetic methods. I am also interested in understanding how alpine plants, and plant communities, respond to environmental change.
