Office of Admissions and International Relations
The Office of Admissions and International Relations is resonsible for NTNU's admissions processes and international relations in the field of education. We also deliver services to departments, faculties and external partners.
The office is made up of two units:
Unit for Admissions handles local, national and international admissions of students to NTNU.
Unit for International Relations is responsible for the processing and reception of international students, student exchange/mobility and management of international programmes such as Erasmus+ at NTNU.
Admissions
We manage admissions to studies at NTNU, both nationally through Samordna Opptak, local admissions at NTNU and international master's degree admissions. We are responsible information to applicants, students and employees at faculties/departments about the admissions process.
Assessment of educational background
During admissions to NTNU, we conduct assessment of educational backgrounds, from Norway and abroad, to ascertain that the admission is done according to current laws and regulations. We assist faculties/departments with assessment of foreign education in admissions to e.g. PhD studies.
Agreement management, staff mobility and student exchange
We manage NTNU's more than 500 exchange agreements with partner institutions aborad, and assist our academic teams with the establishment of new, and maintenance of existing, agreements. We process applications from NTNU students who wish to go on exchange abroad, foreign students wanting to come on exchange to NTNU, and staff who wish to go on staff mobility outside Norway. We offer groupwise and individual counselling on the possibilities and procedures relating to academic stays abroad.
Reception and assistance for international students
We manage and coordinate NTNU's welcome- and information programme for new international students every semester. This includes welcome and information meetings, social events and facilitation of information for new students from abroad. We also assist students through the process of immigration both before and after their arrival to Norway.
Erasmus+
We manage NTNU's participation in the Erasmus+ programme, and offer administrative assistance to faculties/departments.
