WIBEC Training School, held by ValoTec on 10th-12th April 2019, was focused on Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Communication.

From the part of Entrepreneurship and Leadership, ValoTec asked to the ESRs to create 4 different biomedical start-ups, following the SME Deck (Small Medium Enterprise Deck). They supposed to follow the fundamental steps of a start-up creation, as business plan creation, market opportunity analysis, etc. At the last workshop-day all the groups presented their program to a jury, formed by ValoTec top-engineers, through a pitch and answered to the questions.

From the part of Communication, ValoTec invited two guests Nofar Sinai and Aleksandra Sora, to mentor the ESRS on visual storytelling and elevator pitch. Understanding the importance of communicating research effectively to general audience, potential investors and peers is of crucial importance. In each scenario, the content and manner of communication drastically affects the way in which it is received by the audience.
