About the course
Course content
The focus of this subject is aesthetic quality of the built environment and surrounding landscape. Basic introduction to subjects such as place analysis, buildings and space, light and colour, cultural heritage, building code, aesthetics in planning and building processes.
Learning outcome
Knowledge of architectural aesthetics and qualities of place. Knowledge of architectural history and urbanism. Knowledge of planning and projecting. Knowledge of professional concepts and building code. Able to use aesthetic tools and perform analysis and evaluation. Knowledge of how planning and building processes may influence aestethics in the built environment.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, videoes, literature study, assignments, tutoring. May be arranged as an online course if needed.
Further on evaluation
The exam consists of portfolio assessment - all compulsory work together.
