As a teacher in the primary school you are more than a person with responsibility for subject content. You are a key person in the child's life.

This study is a 5-year master's degree programme that provides you with teaching qualifications in the grades 1–7 in the primary school (in Norway). Our aim is to educate skilled teachers with a solid competence in subjects, subject didactics and pedagogy.

This study's compulsory subjects consist of Pedagogy and Teacher Education (60 credits), Mathematics (30 credits) and Norwegian (30 credits). The compulsory subjects are taken during your first four years of your course of study. In the first year of your study you have the opportunity to choose an elective course offered as a major. In the last two years of the course of study you major in one of our ten programme options; Norwegian, Mathematics, English, Natural Science, Social Science, Christian and Other Religious and Ethical Education, Music, Special Needs Education or Professional Education.

Supervised professional training is an essential and important part of the teacher education where you cooperate with colleagues, head teacher and parents.
