This programme is taught in Norwegian.

The Master of Science in Political Science is the study of politics from a local, national and international perspective.


Political Science

The Master of Science in Political Science is a two-year long degree programme which is based on the Bachelor's degree.

The students will learn how to conduct scientific analyses and research. The programme also qualifies students for entrance into the doctoral programme.

The programme provides the students with broad skills within political science approaches, theories, topics and methods. In addition, students will gain particular knowledge of a topic of their choice, for example national or international environmental politics, international economics, foreign policy, public policy evaluation, market and public opinion, and political behavior. This programme is suited for those who are interested in politics and administration, both at national and international level.


Programme structure

The Master of Science in Political Science is a two-year long programme which consists of compulsory courses, elective courses and a thesis of either 30 ECTS or 45 ECTS. For further information about the courses, please consult the course descriptions.
