Forum for Industrial Cooperation

The Faculty of Natural Science and Technology at NTNU has established a Forum for Industrial Cooperation. The Forum organizes cooperation between industry and the faculty in order to promote the recruitment of students to the natural sciences and technology and the programmes of study offered by the faculty.

The Forum for Industrial Cooperation was established in 2001 and has 20 companies as well as the main sectoral organization for Norwegian industry with a membership of over 3000 companies.

Activities in the Forum for Industrial Cooperation are funded by the members. The size of the annual contribution is determined by each company.

The main focus of work in the Forum for Industrial Cooperation is projects involving students and higher education as well as measures directed at secondary education for long-term recruitment to the natural sciences. This means that most of the cooperative measures are linked to teaching and research and following up students in the natural sciences and technology. Examples of activities are: supervision and support for PhD and master's students, arranging project work as well as suitable industrial placements for students at the faculty.
