1.1 Names

1.1 Names

Morn is short for god morgen, which means good morning.

There are several words that can be used when you are greeting another person:

Your browser does not support the audio element. Hei is informal and quite common. In general, one is using hei in face to face communication with friends, but also the first time you meet a stranger.
Your browser does not support the audio element. Hallo is informal and rather common as well. In general, one is using hallo when talking on the telephone, but also in face to face communication.
Your browser does not support the audio element. God dag (literaly, good day) is a bit more formal, most used by adults when greeting strangers and less acquainted people.

In Norwegian, the tense of the verbs can in general be identified by checking a verb's ending. Most verbs have -r endings in present tense.

There are four different verbs in Chapter 1:

  1. Jeg heter Axel.
  2. Hyggelig å hilse på deg.
  3. Jeg er norsk.
  4. Hvor kommer du fra?
