The Winner and Best Paper Awards at IEEE PBVS Workshop & Challenge-2020

Norwegian Biometrics Laboratory (NBL) at NTNU along with Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) win Best Paper award at IEEE Perception Beyond the Visible Spectrum workshop series (IEEE PBVS-2020) conducted in conjunction with  the IEEE computer vision and pattern recognition (CVPR).  This workshop aims for development of algorithms in imaging and sensing in the non-visible spectrum (infrared, thermal, radar, …). The research article authored by NBL members - Dr. Kishor Upla, Prof. Raghavendra Ramachandra, Prof. Kiran Raja and Prof. Christoph Busch and SVNIT members - Vishal Chudama,Heena Patel, and Kalpesh Prajapati with the title “TherISurNet-A computationally Efficient Thermal Image Super-Resolution Network” proposes a new and superior thermal super-resolution (SR) scheme for Low-Resolution (LR) thermal observation. This research uses a  computationally efficient deep learning architecture for thermal SR for different upscaling factors. We participated in this challenge with additional architecture in which 50 other teams have also participated from 17 different countries. Our proposed architecture obtained best performance for Evaluation 1 measure and won this competition. Following is the link for the same: http://vcipl-okstate.org/pbvs/20/challenge.html
