Dr. Kishor Upla joined NBL as ERCIM Post-doctoral fellow

Since November 2019, Dr. Kishor Upla joined NBL as ERCIM Post-doctoral fellow.

Kishor have has completed Ph. D. from Dhirubhai-Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India in January 2016. His PhD was on fusion of Multi-spectral (MS) and Panchromatic (Pan) images and during that time he had published many international journal papers including paper in IEEE Transactions on Geo-science and Remote Sensing (TGRS). After PhD, the research works which were carried out during PhD had been extended in terms of book and same was published with Cambridge University Press in February 2019. The title of book is "Multi-resolution image fusion in remote sensing". After PhD, he continued his research work in the domain of computer vision and image processing using deep learning.

He is working as an Assistant Professor at SVNIT, Surat where he has also developed one laboratory on Computer Vision and Machine learning in which he got grant of one NVIDIA GPU TitanXP 12GB in the year of 2017 from NVIDIA Graphics Ltd. He is also working on one sponsored research project on "Single image Super-resolution using GANs for CCTV camera" funded from Department of Science and Technology (DST), India with Rs. 2400k.

Currently, he is working on “Low resolution face recognition” at NBL lab in NTNU, Gjøvik
