Why we educate

NAPIC develops a lot of knowledge through its research. Education is important for the center both because it needs to pass this knowledge on to the next generation, and because education on the MSc and PhD levels are important contributors to NAPIC's research. 

Also, NTNU and other universities typically have a lot of steel-related courses, and few aluminium related courses. One of NAPIC's goals is to strengthen and develop the course portfolio at NTNU, attracting far more students at different levels to learn more about aluminium based products. NAPIC's education will help increase the knowledge on aluminium applications for future engineers, and drive the aluminium product industry forwards. 

How we educate

NAPIC has MSc, PhDs and Post Docs training to solve current and future industrial challenges.

As of now, NAPIC has eight PhD students from multiple disciplines working on aluminium innovation related projects. 

NAPIC's aim is to have 20 MSc's annually, 12 PhD/Post Doc candidates by 2018, and to contribute to two EiTs.
