Pyunghwa Peace Kim’s public defence of his doctoral work

Pyunghwa Peace Kim is the first PhD student finishing the doctoral degree at SFI Metal Production. He has submitted the following academic thesis as part of the doctoral work at the Norwegian University of Science (NTNU):

“The Reduction Rates of SiMn Slags from Various Raw Materials”

The Faculty of Natural Science has appointed the following Assessment Committee to assess the thesis:

  • Professor Emeritus Oleg Ostrovski, University of New South Wales, Australia
  • Senior Lecturer, PhD Elias Matinde, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa
  • Associate Professor Jafar Safarian, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, NTNU

Associate Professor Jafar Safarian has been appointed Administrator of the Committee. The Committee recommends that the thesis is worthy of being publicly defended for the PhD degree.

Supervisors

The doctoral work has been carried out at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, where Professor Merete Tangstad has been the candidate’s supervisor. Senior Research Scientist Eli Ringdalen, SINTEF Industry has been the candidate’s co-supervisor.
