Information for visiting scholars and research fellows
Information for potential visiting scholars and visiting research fellows at Department of Interdisciplinary studies of Culture (KULT), NTNU
Are you considering visiting KULT as a guest researcher?
KULT welcomes visiting researchers at all career stages, working in the fields of Gender and Diversity Studies and Science and Technology Studies (STS). In the following you will find some useful information about what we can offer, and what we ask from visiting scholars.
About KULT
The Department of Interdisciplinary studies of culture (KULT) consists of two research centers: Center for Gender Research and Center for Technology and Society. Across the centers there are several active research groups. An overview can be found on the KULT active projects page, or more generally on the Department's research page.
If you are granted a visiting researcher or PhD position at KULT, KULT can offer:
-
A desk and a working space, usually in shared office space
-
Access to university infrastructure (library, canteens etc)
-
An inclusive and active research environment
What do KULT ask from visiting researchers?
-
Before coming to KULT, we request that you make a work plan for your visit. One of the research leaders (Tomas Moe Skjølsvold for STS and Siri Øyslebø Sørensen for Gender studies) have to approve a program of work/ proposal for the time at KULT which would include objectives for the visit, the work program you would be undertaking, activities and outputs. The plan should include how you will engage with ongoing research at KULT and share your work with us during your visit. Presentations and workshops can be organized as part of:
-
STS seminars series
-
NTNU GenderHub
-
Guest lectures in KULT study programs in STS and Gender studies (bachelor and master level)
-
Independent seminars
NTNU does have a 'bench fee', which means we do not ask any fee.
How can you become a visiting fellow at KULT?
Visiting researchers are invited to KULT if the following criteria are met:
-
Secured funding for your stay.
-
Affiliation with one (or more) research groups and/or ongoing research projects at KULT.
-

-
