Pupils flock to the Ocean Space Race 2017

Over 400 pupils participated in the Ocean Space Race 2017 on 10 March, which is the largest recruiting event of the Department of Marine Technology.

The competition is part of the high school course “Technology and Research” . The pupils competed in three different groups: The Young Ship Designer, Wind Turbines and Open Class. They also participated in guided tours and lectures at campus Gløshaugen and the Marine Technology Centre.

The pupils showed a high level of interest in technology and delivered impressive models and design reports.

The goal of the event is to recruit pupils to technology studies and marine technology, and we hope to see many of them again as students in a couple of years.
