About Master in Engineering Geology

Engineering Geology is about geological knowledge related to the use of the underground and groundwater resources to prevent landslides.

As a student on Master in Engineering Geology you will learn how to build safe tunnels and rock structures and how landslides can be prevented. Through knowledge of rocks, sediments and groundwater, you can contribute to preventing both society from causing unnecessary harm to nature and nature from inflicting unnecessary damage on society. 

You can choose one of the following main profiles:

  • Environmental and Hydrogeology
  • Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics

Language of instruction: Norwegian

You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian.

The application deadline for the programme is April 15th. Students apply through Samordna Opptak.
