About the programme

As a student in the Master's programme in General Psychology, you will experience a blend of breadth and depth in the field of psychology. You will have significant flexibility in shaping your own educational profile. For instance, you can choose an applied approach in your specialization, which includes practical experience and a 45-credit master's thesis, or opt for a laboratory-based focus with a 60-credit master's thesis.

This specialization offers you a comprehensive scientific education in both theoretical and applied psychology. Alongside instruction in research methods, project development, and research advancement, emphasis will be placed on areas in which the institute has specific research expertise. These areas range from cognitive neuroscience and learning psychology to environmental psychology, and from evolutionary psychology and developmental psychology to social psychology.

Common to these fields is a central focus on the normal psychology and how it contributes to understanding the individual, society, and the societal challenges we face. General psychology provides in this way expertise that is relevant to various sectors in both the public and private spheres.
