Why did you choose NTNU?

I decided on NTNU mainly because I wanted to experience something other than Oslo, where I am from. I had heard much about Trondheim and it being a great student city, so it seemed like a great choice.

Why did you choose this study programme?

I firstly studied European studies with political science during my bachelor. I found that very interesting, and the EU very fascinating, so I decided that I wanted to keep studying it. This MA programme was the perfect choice after a very interesting BA.

What is it like to be a student in your study programme?

It is very interesting, and you get a lot of opportunities, such as the possibility to intern. The courses are fascinating, and the people are very nice.

What is your life like as a student?

It is very fun! As long as you structure your time, you have a lot of it for both studies and the social part, which is very important. I have made so many friends during my years in Trondheim.

How do you spend your free time outside of your studies?

Mostly with friends, working out, experiencing the city, or working in my part-time job.

Have you been or are you going on an exchange during your studies?

Yes

Where are you going/have you been, and why did you choose that exchange programme?

I interned at the SINTEF office in Brussels. Studying the EU it seemed imortant to experience Brussels, and i had a wonderful time.

Why did you choose NTNU?

I chose to study at NTNU because of the university's good reputation in Norway. I knew that it was a top university with good professors, as well as it felt like a modern university with great focus on the student. Trondheim is also a vibrant student city with many opportunities for voluntary work and other social activities, which is a great place to meet like-minded students and friends.

Why did you choose this study programme?

Prior to the masters degree, I was enrolled in the bachelors programme European Studies with Political Science at NTNU. I choose to ahead with the masters degree in European Studies because I was very content with the professors and programme at bachelors level, and wanted to delve deeper into the topics that we had been introduced to. In addition to this, the opportunity to go for an internship for 6 months of the master was very alluring, and a big factor for my choice.

What is it like to be a student in your study programme?

There is a lot of interesting courses that provides a more practical insight in the EUs actors, politics and contestation. The number of students in the classes are quite small, so it allows for the classroom to be a dynamic sphere where professors and students discuss together. Students at the MEUROP are organised under the student union (linjeforening) EUREKA, which provides with social gatherings and is a great place to meet friends across the study programme.

What is your life like as a student?

My life as a student is a merge of socially creating new relationships, academic training, fun, checking the cheapest options for food in the stores and hanging out with my friends. As a student, you will be exposed to new impressions and experiences, both socially and academically. Being a student can be tough, but it is always nice to know that we are all in the same boat!

How do you spend your free time outside of your studies?

I love to travel and experience new cultures and cities, and that goes hand in hand with studying (especially the European Studies programme). When i lack the money to do so, i often hang out with my friends, work out or are involved in voluntary work on and off campus! I have been voluntaring in the linjeforening, in ISFiT and in UKA. This is such a valuable opportunity to meet new friends!

Have you been or are you going on an exchange during your studies?

Yes

Where are you going/have you been, and why did you choose that exchange programme?

My first exchange was in my second year of the bachelors programme, where i went to Sciences Po Lyon. It was truly an amazing experience, where i met people i'm still friends with now. It was a great opportunity to learn about other cultures in a safe environment, and to travel!
During my masters, I have also been on a six-months internship at the NTNU Brussels Office. This has been an extremely enriching opportunity, providing direct insight in the EU and to the work life. Living so closely to the policy-makers have sparked my curiosity even further in my study-field, and has made me exited about my future carrier in this field.
