Course content

Based on the content of the summer school the student has participated in, a topic is chosen for the student to study further. The student's main supervisor will then formulate an additional research question related to the chosen topic. The student will then work on this topic equivalent time to 4.5 ETC.

Learning outcome

The student will deepen his knowledge in a specific topic based on the summer school visited.

Learning methods and activities

Guided self-study by the candidate's main supervisor. If more than one candidate is enrolled, the enrolled candidates' supervisors may choose to jointly organize the studies. To pass the course a score of at least 70 percent is required.

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Engineering (PHIV)

Required previous knowledge

The student must have participated in a summer school on his related field of research/expertise. Certificate from the PhD summer school must be presented. Admission to the PhD programme in Engineering is required, with a supervisor from IBM's research group Hydraulic Engineering. The candidate's supervisor must agree to run the studies. Certificate from the PhD summer school must be presented.
