About

Lessons are not given in the academic year 2024/2025

Course content

Topic(s) -Evolution of Quality Design and Control -Statistical Methods and Probability Concepts in Manufacturing -Statistical Process Control (SPC) Failure Mode Assessment and Evaluation (FMEA) Design of Experiments (DoE) -Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma -Quality Management Systems and relevant international standards - Measuring systems analysis, measuring technology and measuring uncertainty

Learning outcome

After completing the course, the student should have the following learning outcomes;

KNOWLEDGE: Students will have advanced understanding of: - Quality management -statistical and probabilistic methods to reach zero defects -quality management methods and tools, -risk management methods such as FMEA - Measuring systems - understand the underlying basics, usefulness and pitfalls of quality tools such as MSA, FMEA, DOE, SPC, Isikawa diagram, etc.

SKILLS: - be able to apply probability models and statistical tools, quality and risk management to achieve zero defect manufacturing. - manage application of tools such as MSA, FMEA, DOE, SPC, Isikawa diagram, etc.

General COMPETENCE: - understand, utilize and develop zero defect manufacturing applied to industry context - being able to set Zero defect manufacturing in a broader understanding on manufacturing and see the limitations and usefulness.
