Course content
The students will learn fundamental technology and methods for electronic system design and analysis. Topics covered will be coordinated with concurrent mathematics courses when relevant.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- The student can explain the underlying concepts for self-designed electronic systems and the methods used to achieve this.
Skills:
- The student can design and analyze analog and digital electronic systems.
- The student can implement and test self-designed electronic systems.
- The student can document how a problem can be solved using a design that is based on one or more general concepts.
Generell competance:
- The student can verify and reflect over and provide critical assessment of a concrete implementation of their own design.
Learning methods and activities
Student-active learning methods (Flipped Classroom). Deliverables in the form of design and analysis problems. Half of these must be passed to be eligible for the exam.
Compulsory assignments
- Exercises
Further on evaluation
The final grade of the course is given through an aggregated assessment consisting of two objects, an oral exam and deliverables in the form of reports. The oral exam count 55% and deliverables 45% towards the final grade, respectively. The reports are technical papers documenting design projects given during the semester. Information on the scope of the reports, possibilities for feedback, delivery method, deadlines and assessment will be given at the start of the semester. Information on obligatory activity will be given at the start of the semester.
If case of a re-sit examination in August, this can be executed as an oral exam. If the course isn't passed after the re-sit examination it is possible to re-take individual objects.
