Course content
The course aims at developing future-oriented work and the conveyance of new artefacts, installations and experiences with contextual relevance to the faculty’s co-existense at the coming KAMD centre. Fundamental principles of design, art, architecture and technology are an integral part of the course, in order to familiarise the students with the various the fields competence and perspective found under the AD umbrella. The course is designed to give brief interdisciplinary knowledge, and provide insights into the ways and methods from neighbouring areas of knowledge and craft. Generating artistic work that can create links between multifaceted disciplinary expertise and the opportunities, as well as challenges, posed by AD's future realm.
Learning outcome
Knowledge: An extended understanding of the boundaries of design, and how horizontal approaches with neighbouring disciplines from AD can add complexity and relevance.
Skills: The ability to visualize, convey, and convincingly argue ideas and concepts.
Qualifications: A capacity for teamwork, and work in interdisciplinary teams.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and a supervised project. A verbal presentation of the results is included in the project assignments. The course is given in English if necessary.

Individual submission of project. For a re-take of an examination, all assessments during the course must be re-taken.

The course is reserved for students at master level in Industrial design (MTDESIG and MSDESIG) and Master in Architecture (MAAR). Allocation of places are done in accordance with Forskrift om opptak til studier ved NTNU.
