Course content
This course provides an introduction to design history and design as a profession. Through exercises and a project introduced students to the designer's way of thinking, working, and visual communication.
Design history with their own lectures and final exam is part of the course.
Obligatory workshop courses and basic drawing techniques included in the exercises.
Learning outcome
Knowledge: Candidates have a basic understanding of design concepts and design as profession.
Skills: Through exercises, the candidates have some exercise in the designer's way of thinking, working methods and communication techniques.
General qualifications: Candidates have basic safety knowledge and practical training in a prototype workshop.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercises, project, and an oral presentation of the results. 8 assignments must be completed to pass the course. The introductory course Teknostart and a workshop course is integrated in this course as a compulsory exercise.
Specific conditions
Admission to a programme of study is required:
Industriell design (MTDESIG)
Recommended previous knowledge
Limited to students of Industrial Design Engineering.
