- the candidate should have an understanding of how the purchase function affects the organization's goals
- the candidate should have basic knowledge of the role of purchasing in the supply chain
- the candidate should have an understanding of different forms of buyer-supplier cooperation
- the candidate should be familiar with procurement techniques and routines
Abilities:
- the candidate should be able to analyze purchasing issues and solve these by applying different models and methods
- the candidate should be able to design a complete purchasing process
General competence:
- the candidate should be able to assess issues, and find appropriate methods of solution
- the candidate (as part of a group) should be able to provide a critical assessment of their own solutions of purchasing problems
- the candidate should have the ability to solve problems in collaboration with others as well as communicating these
