Course content
The course is a further specialization within relevant subjects of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The course will provide in depth insight into core issues of entrepreneurship, and help the student to find their own position within the theoretical fields. The actual themes will vary from one year to another, depending upon available teaching staff, as well as the projects run in parallell by the students, but they will build on knowledge gained in the courses that serve as required previous knowledge (see above). The course will also give a basis for conduction empirical research on relevant issues, choose research method and an efficient research design.
Learning outcome
The position of the course: The course is obligatory for all students at MTIØT who have chosen Corporate entreprenurship as their main profile for their MTIØT program. Knowledge learnt in this course: - The student should acquire specific and detailed knowledge about a small set of advanced themes within entrepreneurship management. Preferably, at least one of these themes should be relevant for the theme chosen for the project work that the student is doing in parallell with this course - The student should acquire general knowledge about the most important methodological challenges when doing research, as well as a set of ways to handle these challenges
Learning methods and activities
This course is in two parts. The first part is five seminars on advanced entrepreneurship themes. The students are required to read and present some parts of the articles that are up for discussion. In part two of the course, there is a seminar series on methodolody and research design. This methodology part is run in English.
Required previous knowledge
This course is reserved for students of the master's programme in industrial economics and technology management specializing in Corporate entrepreneurship. Students must also take TIØ4531 Corporate entrepreneurship, Specialization Project. Students who take this course must have completed TIØ4265 Strategic Management and TIØ4170 Technologybased Business Development.
