Course content

Academic content must be agreed upon with lecturers within the discipline.

Learning outcome

Ingress: The student will learn to specialize in a specific topic within the discipline.

Knowledge: The student will learn scientific methods through completion of an independent project within the discipline.

Skills: The student will be able to complete a project and write a project report in accordance with established standards and by use of relevant digital tools.

General competence: The student will have a scientific basis for the completion of the master's thesis within the discipline.

Learning methods and activities

The project work is carried out individually or in small groups of students (normally two) under the supervision of a professor/lecturer.

Further on evaluation

If the project is performed as group work, the students and supervisor shall make an agreement about individual or joint assessment of the final project report.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Geoscience and Georesources (MSGEOS)
Geotechnology (MTTEKGEO)

Required previous knowledge

Admission to a programme of study is required: Geotechnology (MTTEKGEO) (specialization within Mineral Production and Resource Geology), Geoscience and Georesources (MSGEOS) (specialization within Mineral Resource Engineering) or approval from the person with course responsibility. It is provided that the student has completed all courses which are listed as compulsory for the specialization in the study plan, or gets approval from the person with course responsibility.
