Course content

In agreement with the supervisor on the specialization project, the student selects a course on the master level (or higher) that (normally) is related to the topic of the specialization project. An alternative is to choose between so called special modules, see http://www.ntnu.edu/physics/courses/specialmodules. Current modules from TFE4575 Physical Methods for Nanostructuring and Characterization, Specialization Course, may also be chosen.

Learning outcome

The course will give the student an in-depth knowledge of current interests within physics. There will normally be a connection to the chosen specialization project. For further details, see the learning objectives formulated for each specific course.

Learning methods and activities

For ordinary courses, see the relevant course description. The modules are given as lectures, colloquia, laboratory courses, or self studies. Teaching will be in English if students on international master programmes are attending the course. A re-sit examination will be held in August the following year. Expected workload in the course is 195-217,5 hours.
