About the course
Course content
A specialization course should normally support the topic for the specialization project. The student chooses a course in consultation with their supervisor. The course must be on master's level or higher. As an alternative, the student may choose a combination of two specialization modules from this list:
- TFY1a Advanced topics in MRI and PET
- FY8408 Introduction to MR imaging
- FY8409 Radiation Therapy Physics
Current modules from TFY4525 Bionanotechnology, Specialization Course, can also be chosen.
Learning outcome
The course will give the student an in-depth knowledge of current interests within biophysics and medical technology. There will normally be a connection to the chosen specialization project. For further details, see the learning objectives formulated for each specific course.
Learning methods and activities
For ordinary courses, see the relevant course description. The modules are given as lectures, colloquia, laboratory courses or self studies. Teaching will be in English if students on international master programmes are attending the course. Expected workload in the course is 225 hours.
Further on evaluation
A re-sit examination will be held in August the following year.
Recommended previous knowledge
First four years on the study program Applied Physics and Mathematics, line of study Biophysics and Medical Technology, or equivalent.
