Course content
The course is designed to equip the student with in-depth knowledge on a selected topic within the fields of Electronic Systems Design, by means of the realization of a scientific project. As a main rule the project work is to be done by individual students, but can also be done within smaller groups if this is deemed worthwhile. The topic is chosen after discussion with a professor, from a list of currently available topics within the fields of specialization. The outcome of the work, which typically combines theory, literature studies, simulations and implementation work, is a written project report as well a presentation of the project.
Learning outcome
KNOWLEDGE: The candidate shall by carrying out the project get in depth knowledge within a selected topic in Electronic Systems Design and Innovation. SKILLS: The project shall give the candidate skills in realizing individual specialization projects, including the required work methodology and oral presentation of results. The candidate shall gain skills in performing an in-depth study of a specific topic using scientific work methods. This involves the search for completing material through literature surveys and combining results from such with personal knowledge. The student should learn to carry out a larger independent project. This includes project planning, reporting milestone results, and writing a final project report.GENERAL COMPETENCE:- The candidate can present the results of an independent research project in a suitable form.
Learning methods and activities
Individual projects with supervision. The project shall be documented by a written report and an mandatory presentation. The course evaluation is based on the submitted project report.
Further on evaluation
The report needs to include a reflection on the projects relevance to sustainability with basis in the UN's sustainable development goals.
