Course content
The project topic may be of a reviewing or research kind, or connected to a specific case of infrastructure under planning, construction or operation. Project topics could be within planning, construction, operation or maintenance of transportation infrastructure. The result of the project work is a project report. The specialization project might possibly be a pilot study for the following master thesis.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
How to specialize within a particular topic by using scientific methods.
Skills:
Data collection and handling, literature search and review, as well as combining this with theoretical knowledge.
General competence:
Complete a comprehensive project, including to prepare a plan with milestones, point out results and write a report based on existing norms.
Learning methods and activities
The project work is performed as an independent work under supervision.
Mandatory participation in the course Research Methods held at the beginning of the semester.
Recommended previous knowledge
Passed exams for subjects on which the project is based.
