Course content

The course is about the front-end of projects. The participants learn about methods for analysis of sustainability and economy. Core topics are concept development, project evaluation, project sustainability, uncertainty analyses, cost estimation, profitability analyses, cost development, project governance and early warning signs. The course content is based on research.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The candidate have knowledge about how decisions in the front-end impact sustainability and economy of projects.

Skills: The candidate can use methods for analyzing projects in the front end and understands how the analyses should impact decisions.

General competence: The candidate understands how decisions in the front-end impact sustainability and economy for projects.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and mandatory exercises. The lectures are in English, while the curriculum is partly in Norwegian.

The exam is a 4 hour written school exam.

In the case of a re-sit exam the written exam may be replaced by an oral one.

10 out of 10 exercises must be approved before the candidates can take the exam.
