Course content

The course is based around seminars in which the students will get practical training in analysis of qualitative data.

Learning outcome

Knowledge - the student shall:

  • have insight into the principles of qualitative research methods.
  • be familiar with the challenges associated with the use of various qualitative research methods.

Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:

  • analyze empirical materials with qualitative methods.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and seminars, according to the lecture plan.

Compulsory assignments

  • Compulsory exercises and participation in lectures

Further on evaluation

Form of assessment: Term paper with an oral exam. The term paper is written as a group assignment. Both the paper and the oral exam must be retaken when repeating the exam.

Required previous knowledge

SOS1002 or the equivalent. The requirement must be fulfilled to be admitted to the course.
